{{It seems so weird starting off chapter 2 first...XD}} [ Setting ] A crisp, autumn day in Tokyo, Japan. The air is a bit cool, with a gentle breeze, but not enough to deter people from straying outside. The sun shines in the cloudless sky, and the leaves are starting to drift down from their branches.
A Moonlight Festival is just beginning in a large park in the center of one of the districts. People are already starting to flock to the booths located there, drawn in by the scent of freshly-baked goods, on display at one of the booths...

(Daciana Nicolescu- I love Autumn!)
Daci wondered into the park holding the Moonlight Festival that was getting so much hype in the news. This was her first time being in Japan at this time of year. Usually she was back home celebrating her mother's birthday. This year, her parents decided to go on a trip, so Daci was somewhat forced to stay in Japan. Besides, she had needed a break from rehersals at school and none of her classmates wanted to make the trip with her. It wasn't anything new to her, she was always a loner. However, something felt a bit different lately, like she wanted to break free of her normal self, so why not go to an area full of people! Daci went about looking around at different booths but nothing was catching her eye. Soon she caught a sweet and wonderful wiff of something on the breeze. She followed the scent to a booth filled with baked goods, that seemed to be pretty busy. Everything, at least that she could see in between people, looked amazing.
"It probably tastes as good as it looks." she said softly to no one.

Tori Montgomery: So much for a quiet walk....
For the first time in a couple of days, she finally felt like she could take a full breath. Damn these early autumn colds. In celebration of being able to walk more than thirty feet and not feel winded, Tori decided that today would be a good day to take a walk in the park, to just get outdoors and enjoy the fresh air for a while. She was banking on no crowds, almost no noise, and peace in general.
She was quickly proven wrong as she neared the park and the crowd that had started to form for...wait, what festival was this again? One would think that being in Japan for a year or so would have made Tori realize which festivals occurred when, but when one's adult life was lived primarily on the road, one usually doesn't bother to learn these sort of things.
Her dreams of a quiet walk dashed, Tori simply walked into the park, trying to be just another face in the crowd. About midway through the park, though, the smell of something delicious caught her attention. Is that...cinnamon buns? Sold! Just gotta wait to get through this line....
No sooner had that thought processed when she was run into by some teenage girl busy yammering on her cell phone and not paying attention. The impact caught Tori off-guard, and she fell to the ground, as the girl just scoffed at her and continued on her way.
Perhaps I should have stayed in bed....

Yuuno Sarusuberi : Still snifflin'
Throwing an arm of her scarf over her shoulder, Yuuno took a deep breath in of the slightly chill Autumn air...and coughed on the exhale. A bit too chill for her lungs to take as she was still recovering from a cold, but her boss had allowed her off work at the shop early so that she could enjoy the Moon Festival and some warm Moon Cake.
Approaching the expanding crowd at the park, she pulled the sleeves of her cardigan over her finger tips and fidgeting-ly joined the queue for what smelled like Cinnamon Buns, not that she could actually see them. The queue was huge, even on her tip-toes she couldn't see the stall. Teetering from left to right foot, Yuuno stumbled backwards, narrowly avoiding a girl talking on her cell phone who (perhaps consequentially) knocked over another girl with flaming red hair.
"Oh dear." With a sheepish jump forward she stretched out a hand to help the girl out, turning her head slightly to see that some rotten sod had just taken her space in the queue...
Fukuromi Akaime : Hurrhurr, Moon Cake
She'd chosen the red bean filling this time, by far her smartest decision of the week. With a slice of Moon Cake wrapped in a napkin, Akaime stepped to one side of the queue and scanned the crowd, searching for the party she arrived with. They weren't one for the Chinese delicacy so they went off searching for more home town tastes, where those could be found though was anyones guess.
Oh well, now wasn't the time for playing hide and seek. She was just as content sitting on the dry grass, out of the way and enjoying her slice of Moon Cake. A small, smug little smile crept across her lips, something she shared only with herself.

[ Diana ~ Hates crowds! ]
With Kida out-and-about today, the young moon kitten was disobeying her new mistress and left the apartment. So far, Kida had no clue Diana's true purpose - nor her own! - so she didn't understand that the grey kitten was more then just that. Whenever Kida left the apartment, Diana would leave too, continuing her seemingly-fruitless search.
It would just be so much easier of Kida would just, ya'know, wake up already!
But, having wandered into a park to try and find some sign of the other Senshi, Diana kind of regretted sneaking out. It was too loud, too crowded for her! And most people weren't paying attention to the feet, leaving the poor kitten mewling and avoiding getting trampled.
Fighting her way out of the crowd, she managed to stumble towards a quieter section of the park. She was so preoccupied being freaked out by the crowds that she bumped into someone sitting there, giving a loud mew and rolling backwards across the grass.

[[ Tristan - A Fantastic Opportunity ]]
This evening event was a fantastic opportunity for Tristan for "mingle" with the humans... WITHOUT having to take orders from his Mistresses. Out here, he looked like the other humans and could try and interact with them like a human.
However, as Tristan mingled, he began to feel as though his red suit jacket and brown plaid pants weren't quite appropriate. Then again, he still knew little about normal Japanese apparel, so when he thought about it, he really didn't think it was worth fretting over.
He wandered to and fro, taking in the sights and the smells, observing human interactions and taking a few mental notes. He sorely wanted to try one of the enticing baked goods, but his Mistresses didn't allow him an allowance of money. He was fortunate that one of them had even taken him clothing shopping. (He was sure that they thought it was punishment for him to wear what he chose, but he highly enjoyed his seemingly outdated tastes.)
*MEW!*
Tristan suddenly gasped at the foreign sound. It was small and almost insignificant, but the frightened tone it carried was very obvious.
*MEW!*
Tristan looked around for the source of the strange noise, but instead looked rather odd moving around in a circle in the middle of the festival crowd.

Tori Montgomery: Some people, I swear.
It took her a moment or two to get her bearings back. Once she did, she saw the hand extended in front of her to help her to her feet. "Thanks," Tori said as she took the extended hand and got back to a vertical base. I swear, I'm beginning to think that walking and talking on a phone should be banned. Or at least pass a test that proves you don't become a zombie when you're on the phone.
She paused, wondering why she was being given a look before realizing that she was thinking her thoughts instead of vocalizing them. "Sorry. I didn't want to sound like a raving lunatic. I see someone's taken your spot; you're welcome to step in front of me."
Tori thought about introducing herself, but caution prevailed in the end. Not only was Tori somewhat bad with names, she still had a hard time following social niceties. Best to remain cautious; there were too many variables at play to do otherwise yet.

(Daciana Nicolescu- like woah)
Daci realized that she would have to get in line for a better look at the baked items that were causing such a crowd of people. She moved off to the side to evaluate where the line even started, or ended for that matter. It was so hard to figure anything out in a mess of people. Daci really hated crowds of people. she could be fine with just a few people, but this many was making her head spin. There were more people here then her entire village back home... and the next! She was feeling very unsure that she should have even come. Maybe she wasn't cut out for a different culture, maybe she'd be better off curled up in her room reading Taming of the shrew.
Daci's thoughts were spiing out of control when someone bumped into her. The young kid smiled up at her, bowed, and said he was sorry. Daci gave a slight smile and a nod, getting herself back under control. It was then that Daci felt something, a slight tingle, a firey tingle... like something familar. Daci couldn't understand it, yet before she knew it, it was gone again. Daci decided, more like her stomach decided, that if she was to ever fit in this new country, she better get in line and see what this festival was all about. She moved to what she assumed was the back of the line and waited for her turn, trying hard not to let the fear of this new experience over whelm her.

Sarusuberi Yuuno :: Queue Jumpers...
Having helped the red haired stranger to her feet, Yuuno straightened her back, pulled at the ends of her cardigan, tugging it back into place around her hips and straightened the pleats of her skirt. It was all a little bit too nervous, and even Yuuno began to suspect that.
With a quirk of her mouth she corrected her mannerisms and smiled at the red haired girls passing comment with a shrug. "It's only one extra person, no harm done." She paused for a moment, sensing the other girls hesitation, but glancing at the length of the queue, saw no point in standing in silence for however long it was going to take.
"I'm Sarusuberi Yuuno," she said with a polite little bow. "Although I'm often just called Shibi. I don't mean to sound rude, but you're not native are you?"
Fukuro Akaime :: Nom nom nom
Piece by piece, Akaime picked at the Moon Cake, relishing in every bite. She was almost half-way through her slice when she felt a furry lump collide with her leg. A light purple kitten, staring awe-struck and confused right at her, mewed loudly before rolling over on the grass as though that was an appropriate thing to do after bumping into a stranger.
'Well it IS just a kitten. It's not exactly trained towards human social norms.' But for some reason Yuuno thought it ought to be. She turned her head left and right, trying to get an angle on the kitten as it continued to roll around on the grass, before picking it up by its scruff and holding it directly before her eyes.
"What a precarious crescent moon symbol on your forehead kitty." She muttered quietly, plopping it down on her lap and tearing off a piece of moon cake to feed it. "Will you share in my irony?"

[ Diana ~ Eek! ]
Diana tried to gather her barrings from her tumble, completely oblivious to the man who searched after her ardent mewing. She finally stopped moving when the girl she bumped into scooped her up and raised her to eye level. Being handled by the scruff of her neck was never fun, so she squirmed a bit before the girl talked to her.
Diana stopped her struggled and blinked her large blue eyes up at her. Those eyes widened greatly; those red eyes, the white hair, the voice...it couldn't be, could it?!
"Art--" She began to squeak, but quickly realized she was in public and this girl might not be who she thought she was. Quickly, she placed her kitty paws over her mouth and tried to cover up the word with more mewling, praying that she hadn't given herself away.

[[ Tristan ]]
The strange sound seemed to cease. Tristan looked around again in curiosity and finally conceded defeat. Perhaps the strange sound would be discovered again someday. He pushed himself through the people toward the outer edge of the crowd. He decided to regain his bearings in a less crowded area and stood on the grass, looking about the festival with wonder. What to do, what to do?
*MEW*
Then, as he stood there thinking, he heard it again.
*MEW*
Tristan looked around and found what HAD to be the source: A small puff of fur being seemingly manhandled by a young woman on the grass. The woman sat the fluff down on her lap as it continued to make the strange noise. Not yet knowing any real definition of boundaries, Tristan went right up to the lady and bent down to see the furry thing.
"My, what a peculiar little creature!" he exclaimed. "I could hear it's noise in the crowd naught but a moment ago. It is rather adorable; What is it called? And what is that delectable-looking item?" Tristan was suddenly drawn to the enticing smell of the baked good in the girl's hand.

Fukuromi Akaime :: Excuse you?
Akaime smiled as the kitten caught itself off guard, eating the small portion of moon cake and gently rubbing the kittens ears to quieten her mewling. "Hello Diana." She whispered.
Her guard jumped up to full capacity when the shadow of a stranger appeared at her feet, clad in a curious plaid and bow tie combo, before descending to a kneeling position. She's noticed him before, he was on her list. Akaime had seen her fair share of 'off' people, the 'not quite there's,' but this guy was different. She continued to lather attention onto Diana's ears, making sure the kitten wasn't able to turn its head towards the stranger and reveal the precarious crescent moon on its forehead.
"Uhm..." she pondered, gauging the questions he had launched at her. "This is a cat," she looked down at Diana, "and this is Moon Cake." She motioned the pastry in her hand by lifting it slightly, and then taking a purposefully nonchalant bite, not breaking eye contact for a moment. She was struggling to read his intentions, but perhaps, it struck her, that he wasn't sure of his intentions himself?

[[ Tristan - Mmmm... Moon Cake... ]]
"Moon Cake." Tristan said the name and leaned back to sit on his heels. "Why, even the name is as divine as the smell!" Forgotten was the odd creature. Now, Tristan's mind only thought of the delicious pastry that the girl before him so thoroughly enjoyed. "Oh, what cruel fate I behold. Such a delectable piece of the heavens must be purchased, musn't it?" He reached into his pockets, half-heartedly hoping that maybe his Mistresses had bestowed some coin on his person, but they were empty.
"And so it would seem, I must enjoy the festivities without," Tristan lamented. He stood and bowed to the girl. "Thank you, miss. I shall leave you to enjoy your slice of heaven."

{ Koray Ignis :: So what exactly do I have to do again? }
The faire seemed to be going swimmingly. Koray had been a little concerned when his father had been oh-so-excited about the Lunar Festival event, as he had honestly no idea how it was supposed to work. He was used to waiting on people, not lurking around behind a stall trying to smile and really being quite bored. He could have been at home, researching, but instead he was there. He switched into his usual 'perky' mode, and was as charming as he usually was at Ambrosios, cheerfully calling out to the people passing to try the things on the stall. His father had been up all night baking, and had done himself proud. Of course, Ko had had to try some of the cakes whilst setting up (much to his twin's disgust), and he knew the wares were good.
I wish Cici was here too. At least I wouldn't be so bored...
***
{ Calla Charmian :: The things I do for publicity... }
Dressed as impeccably as she can, in a beautifully-tailored suit (feminine today, for once), Calla stepped from the imported Bentley she had been driven in. She Had little-to-no interest in this festival, something to do with the moon (and it amused her that it was called a 'Lunar' festival) but her agent had thought it a good idea that she attended. Babbled something about raising public awareness and all that rubbish, and that it would do her image good. She had mostly ignored him, and irritably dressed to kill. Because, if she was being forced to do this, she was going to look good. And finding a new bed-partner would be quite pleasant. Her last one had turned out far too clingy, and her current one was...difficult.
She was well aware of the looks she received as she strode through the crowds. Feeling in a better mood for the adulation, she consented to sign a few autographs for those with enough courage to ask her. She even unbent enough to bestow smiles on the more attractive ones.
After about an hour of walking she grew bored, and her irritation returned, until she scented cake. Calla had no idea what sort of cake it was, but it smelled heavenly. And right now, what she needed was a slice of heavenly cake. She followed the scent, and gave a genuine smile when she found the source. Again, she had no idea what cake it was, but she cheerfully ordered a large slice of it. She even smiled at the prettyboy vendor, who flushed as he gave her her change, then found a relatively clear spot to sit down and enjoy the glass of sparkling water and exceedingly delicious cake. Silently, she debated seeing if she could have more of this sent to her apartment, or perhaps get the baker on retainer...

Tori Montgomery: Gee, what gave it away?
"...you're not native, are you?"
"Nope. American by birth, resident--for now--by choice. Just trying to find somewhere I belong. Name's Tori Montgomery, by the way."
Tori paused a moment, a slight shiver showing as a puff of wind seemed to slice through her sweater. It seemed like the person she was addressing wasn't about to leave her alone any time soon. Might as well not come off as a total bitch, I suppose.
"So how long do you think it'll be to get through the line? And more importantly, will there be any cinnamon buns left?"
