[ The Basics ]
Name Meaning: Shining flower of the white hot sun
Nick Name: Those who follow her in the Japan Grand Touring Championship know her as the 20 year old racing sensation Saito Mika, with Mika being her first name. Her grandmother, however, ONLY refers to her as "Hikaru".
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Right now, Misae isn't really interested in ANY sex, as she's more focused on her racing career than anything. However, once she realizes that, yes, she is a sexual being, her attractions will go towards both men and women.
[ Sweet Ruptured Light ]
[ Appearances ]
Hair: Framing her face is wavy red hair that falls between her chin and her shoulders. Her fringe also has a slight wave to it, and ends at her eyebrows. Except for in Senshi form, she always has one piece of hair on each side of her head pinned back, showcasing a pair of orange sapphire ear rings.
Face & Eyes: Set deep in her heart-shaped face are her emerald green eyes that darken when she's either very angry or very focused on something She usually has a very serious look on her face, which many people confuse for her being extremely pissed off.
Body Type: Misae is relatively tall, standing at 5 feet 8 inches (173 cm) tall with a year or two yet to grow. Her skin is medium tan, and rarely gets darker. Her body would be typically what is considered a "dancer's body", with long toned legs and a short torso. Her hips flair out slightly, which only emphasizes how her chest is between the border of being average and smaller than average. She carries herself in the same manner as a man would.
Clothing Style: Misae is definitely a summer girl, and tries to make it last in her clothing as long as possible. Whether it's summer or winter, she pretty much wears the same type of clothing. She usually has a T-shirt with either jeans and sneakers; or shorts and thong sandals. It needs to be extremely cold for her to put on anything when she goes outside. Even then, it's usually a thin sweat shirt or jacket.
There is an exception to this, however: when she actually gets behind the wheel of her race car. She wears a two piece firesuit, so it looks like a jacket and pants. The jacket is orange, with a black and white stripe going down each sleeve. Under the jacket, she wears a black shirt especially made for racing, as it helps prevent burns. The pants are black, and have a white stripe down each leg. She wears black and orange racing shoes, and carries a white helmet.

Personality: Personality wise, there is no difference between Mika and Misae, and she can be summed up in three words: blunt, emotional, and energetic. To put in plainly, she's a bitch. She has no problem telling people how she feels about them. She snaps at people. And, in some cases, she can be almost mean. However, her heart IS in the right place...if you call telling someone that they're a space case as "an attempt to improve their life" a GOOD thing. She wants everyone to do their best, even if she doesn't put it that way. She doesn't have a lot of friends, but if she does become someone's friend, she is probably one of the most loyal friends someone could have. She'll stand up for them, fight for them, beat someone senseless that makes fun of them, and is there when they need someone to talk to. It is also obvious that she spends a lot of time around men. She carries herself like a guy, and actually goes as far as to talk using the same type of pronouns and verbs that a typical Japanese male would use.
Misae also is a very physical person. She is very active, and has three or four different things going on at the same time. She is very tactile, and has no problem touching things to see what they're like. She is a hands on learner, which when she was attending a regular school made her an outcast compared to the other students, who are all book learners. There's only one thing that her physical nature is good for: athletics. She is a very natural athlete, and has amazing hand eye coordination.
She is very paradoxical, not only because it is her nature (her rising sign is in Gemini, which means she has, basically, two sides), but because she's actually worried about not having people around her. She has always heard of athletes and such having friends for what they are, and not who they are. That's why she usually tries to not have many friends. Yet, at the same time, she WANTS people to be close to her, but because of Misae LaFleur the girl, and not Saito Mika the racer. Her subconscious pushing people away, as well as her tendency to tell people off, make her kind of a loner.
Strengths: Loyalty, flexibility, hand/eye coordination, bi-lingual
Weaknesses: Tact, being judgmental, "color blindness", lack of patience, chocolate
Dreams: Moving to the United States to compete in a NASCAR-esque series.
Fears: Failure and losing her competitive edge.

[ Present History ]
After finishing high school, Misae's mother, Naomi, moved to Ginowan, Okinawa, to attend school. While walking around the city, she met a very charming young man in one of the bars. The man was a US Marine, stationed at the base there, named James LaFleur. Naomi and James soon married, and had three children: two boys (Michael and JJ) and a girl (Misae). Because of being "hafuu", the three grandchildren were, in essence, disowned by Naomi's father. (Due to the atomic bomb attacks in Nagasaki that killed most of his family, he swore an eternal hatred towards the United States). Which, in turn, meant that Naomi's mother disowned them as well. Or, so the woman let her husband think. Naomi's mother, referred to by Misae as Obaasan, was very headstrong, and found ways to keep in touch with her only child and her children.
The three children had relatively normal childhoods, growing up in a small town near enough to Ginowan to experience big city life, but far enough that James felt like he was back on the farm that he grew up on in the southern United States. Living the small town life also allowed James to get his children involved in his passion, which was auto racing. Neither Michael or JJ were very good at the sport, but Misae was. It wasn't very long before she was competing with other men in auto races and beating them. This immediately caused a start-up Japan Grand Touring Championship team in Tokyo to take notice. There was one small problem: Misae was only 16, and the legal driving age is 18.
Her father thought for a bit, and decided that the best thing to do to cash in on Misae's natural talent was to...fake her identity. He introduced himself to the team as Misae's agent, and that she was named Saito Mika. Shortly after that, they signed her, and Misae moved with her father to Tokyo. For the first two years in Tokyo, she attended school as Misae LaFleur and raced as Saito Mika, having no clude what her father had done.
That was, until she turned 18.
She had been celebrating her birthday by spending time with her pit crew. One of the guys, who she saw as a big brother-figure, offered her a beer. She was confused, as she wasn't old enough to drink, and she knew that. When they asked her why, she replied, very honestly, that she was 18. When the guys told her what they were told, which was that she was 20, she was furious. She confronted her dad, and he told her the whole story. She was pissed, and told him in no uncertain terms what he could do with himself and with what animal.
About the same time as Misae found out that her father lied about her age, Naomi's father died of natural causes. Naomi alerted her mother that her only granddaughter was in need of a roommate. So the older woman moved in with her. Misae and Obaasan are very similar, and constantly butt heads because they're TOO much alike at times.

Uniform Description: Solaris wears a white, sleeveless leotard under her armor. Over the chest is a bodice made of black material. Just under her orange sailor collar are her pauldrons. Both of them are made of orange metal, with golden metal over the loose edges. The right arm has one simple pauldron. The left arm, though, has two parts, which are connected by what appears to be a black gem set in gold. The lower part of the left pauldron also has a black gem set in the middle of it. Both parts end in a black gem in front, which rest on her collarbone. The pauldrons are connected to each other by a gold chain.
On each arm there is a three inch wide gold arm band. There is a belt of a similar width around her waist. On the middle of her belt are three gemstones: one large, oval shaped black gem, and one smaller, oval shaped orange gem on either side.
Attached to the belt of gems is her tasset, which basically look like the tails of a formal suit coat. Like her pauldrons, it is made of orange metal with gold metal on the loose edges. They hang down to just under her knees. Under the tasset is a black skirt. The skirt goes down to about mid thigh.
Her boots start just under where her skirt ends. The boots are made of a white fabric. Attached to the boots are a poleyn (knee-cap protector) and a mid-shin greave, which covers the front part of her legs. Both the poleyn and the greave are made of black metal, with the gold metal on the outer edges. The poleyn has an orange gem set in the middle of it, with a smaller orange gem attached to the lower end of the large gem. The greave just has one orange gem on it.
Weapon: Solar Flail: The Solar Flail is made of an orange-yellow metal. The ball has spikes over 2-1/2" long, which is attached to a chain which is linked inside a hand wrought steel bar. The bar is secured to a seared wood handle and has an overall extended length of over four feet, about half being from the handle and the other half being from the chain and ball.
Energy Wave Smash
Battle Style: Just like Misae, Solaris is very "hands-on". She will beat the living daylights out of you first, and THEN ask you what you know. It's to the point where she will use her weapon or her own strength 99.9 percent of the time over her magical ability.
Warrior Personality: Sailorsolaris and Misae are the same, yet different. Both of them have the tendency to act first, and think later. They also are tenacious, and dedicated to protecting those they care about.
They can both be bitches, as well. While Misae's a bitch in order to make sure that her friends are ones who see past it, Solaris' bitchiness is focused solely on her enemies. The way Solaris sees it, you mess with her family (Moon, Earth, and Uranus), you better be willing to get an ass whoopin' from her.
When Misae fails at something, it gnaws at her for days. Solaris, however, tends to see the big picture. She understands that, in war, sometimes there are going to be failures, and her side is not going to win all the time.
Passive Abilities: Her color blindness in her civilian form actually is an adaptation of her eyes. She has the ability to see light waves outside of the human light spectrum. This means that she can see from Infrared down to ultraviolet. This makes her advantageous in a situation where the senshi are in a dark area, but can also be a liability in a brightly lit area.
She also has the ability to take those light waves, and use them to heat up things. Mostly, though, she uses it to warm up her tea if it gets too cold.
[ It Ends Here Tonight ]
[ The Story of the Past ]
Solaris never thought, in a million years, that she was a senshi. She was the youngest of the family, and the Sol star seed always went to the oldest female in the family. And, she had three older sisters, Shapash, Walo, and Saule, who were triplets. So, one of the three of them were assumed to have the star seed. They ignored their other siblings, including Solaris, because they were so entrenched in proving which one of them had the star seed.
The signs were there that *maybe* it shouldn't have been assumed that one of the triplets would be the next soldier of the Sun. Whenever the Royal Family of the Sun went to visit the courts of the other senshi, Solaris was usually the one to spend time with the other princesses. This was especially the case with the courts of the Moon, the Earth, and Uranus. She also seemed to have a closer bond with Eos than her sisters did.
Solaris' grandmother, Wurusemu, was the only one who noticed the bonds. While she couldn't assume that her youngest granddaughter was the one carrying the Star Seed, she began to train Solaris in both weaponry and magic. She had a natural talent for both, especially with using a flail. However, it was obvious that she favored physical attacks to magical ones.
When she wasn't training with her grandmother, she worked on her dancing skills. She was the youngest in the family, after all. That way, until it was time to marry, she'd spend time with one of the other royal families as an entertainer. Besides, dance was something she was good at.
Then, it came time for the ceremony in which her older sisters assumed they would find out which one of them was chosen to have the honor of being the warrior sent to Selenity's court. It was a beautiful day, and the royal palace of the Sun was shimmering in gold. All the important members of the Sun Kingdom were there, and everyone was dressed impeccably.
Shapash, Walo, and Saule knelt in front of a grand altar. Wurusemu was standing behind it as she started the ceremony. It was tradition for the eldest living female member of the royal family to pass down the title of Sailor Senshi to the one in the next generation. Solaris was standing on the side, along with the rest of the family.
When the ceremony started, she picked up an ornately-decorated staff, said a short incantation, and pointed the scepter at Saule. Everyone sat in expectation, waiting for light to surround her and transform her into the senshi of the sun.
Nothing happened.
Wurusemu said the incantation again, and pointed the scepter towards Shapash.
But, again, nothing happened.
Repeating the incanation a third time, Wurusemu pointed the scepter at Walo.
For a third time, nothing happened.
Solaris gulped. Her sisters were automatically assumed to be the senshi of the Sun. While she had trained with her grandmother, she figured it was just to make sure that she had a self-defense mechanism. Maybe it was a joke, or maybe it was one of her brothers.
Wurusemu said the incantation one more time and pointed the scepter towards her, she was engulfed by a bright, red-orange light. When the light dissipated, she was in the armor similar to what she saw her sisters in all the time. Wurusemu smiled to herself, walked over, and immediately pulled Solaris in to a hug. "I always figured it was you," she whispered.
Almost instantly, Solaris was whisked to the Moon. While she was a princess, she had expected her life to be more of that of nobility. Not only that, but she was one of the youngest of the senshi at the court. She expected the senshi, now that they were on the Moon, to be just like her sisters, focused more on showing who was stronger.
It wasn't further from the truth.
She was greeted warmly, and openly. Her bond with Moon, Earth, and Uranus was just as strong as it was before she officially became a Senshi. The longer she stayed there, the stronger their bond became. It was almost expected that, where you found one of the girls, you found all four.
She heard the rumors, of course. And, to be honest, she didn't give a lick. If you asked her, she'd tell you, bluntly that she didn't give a lick, either. Mostly, it came from her relationship with them. She considered the three other girls sisters, and that's all there was. She hadn't ever been the type of person, though, to read others very well...
The death of the Courtier shocked Solaris to her core. She had a feeling that, whoever or whatever did it, was an immediate threat to her princess. And, with Earth being whisked away for her safety, each of the remaining Senshi had to step up her game. Solaris did the same, starting to spend less time with her adopted sisters, and more time in training.
It seemed like no more than a few days later (although, in reality, it wasn't) that the Shade Senshi attacked. Solaris ran in defense of Moon, and was relieved to find Earth was able to join them. She knew Earth well enough to read the look on her face, which mirrored her own concern: there was no "opposite" for either one of them.
She tried her hardest to defend Moon and ensure that no one injured her or took the Ginzoushou. However, it was her greatest strength that ended up being her downfall. As she was preparing to strike one of the Shades with her flail, she allowed a spot to be open on her body. The Shade struck, killing her nearly instantly.

Energy Wave Smash
- Sequence: Solaris takes the Flail, and spins it around her head, as if it's a helicopter propeller. As it whips around her head, the ball gathers a colored aura, depending on the amount of energy she's using for the attack. The colors go, (from weakest to strongest): Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet. Then, when she has gathered the amount of energy she feels is enough, she takes the Flail, and slashes in front of her with it, going from right to left. When she does, a wave of light energy (which is always the same golden yellow color) leaves the “slash” and heads to her target. Looking at the attack straight on, it appears as if it's a straight burst of energy. However, looking at it from the side, you can see that it is actually traveling in a wave.
- Effect: Depending on the strength of the attack and the strength of the creature she is facing, the attack can either stun or destroy a youma. The color of the energy gathered before she sends the attack also can affect the number of times she can attack with it. The weaker ones, she can use this attack several times. However, for the stronger ones, while they tend to do more damage, it also takes up more of her energy. Some of her attacks, if she uses enough energy, she can only do it once.
Battle Style: Just like Misae, Solaris is very "hands-on". She will beat the living daylights out of you first, and THEN ask you what you know. It's to the point where she will use her weapon or her own strength 99.9 percent of the time over her magical ability.
