Name Meaning: “Servant of the Seven Seas”, give or take a little creative licensing.
Sarkisian is an Armenian name meaning “son of Sarkis”, the given name Sarkis meaning 'servant'.
Nanami - 七海 – is written with the characters for “seven” and “sea”.
Nick Name: Mimi, which she uses to correct people who try and call her 'Nana' (nana can either be written 'seven' or as 'vegetable', after all, and she would rather not be known as seven vegetables.)
Age: 28
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Unconcerned (she cares for people, not their physical form.)
[ Sweet Ruptured Light ]
[ Appearances ]
Hair:Naturally curly and generally left loose to hang to her waist, Nanami's hair is a rich navy blue (#0B0052) in color – streaked with fading lines of ultramarine (#150036) and bright peacock blue (#2A8D9C). Her bangs are cut to frame her face, trimmed so that they fall to touch the line of her jaw and parted to either side to reveal the widow's peak of her hairline.
Face & Eyes: From her Turkish father, Nanami has a face equipped with high, defined cheek bones and a strong jaw, her nose a bit on the larger side and her lips shapely, but on the thinner side. Her eyes are almond-ish, with thick, dark lashes and heavy lids, giving a flirty, almost sensual shadow to the Vienna blue (#00677E) of her irises.
Body Type: Standing tall at 5'10" and slender of body, the best word to describe her would probably be “slinky” - her limbs long, but not lanky, and her body shapely despite being thin. Her shoulders and hips are rounded, her chest on the small side – a B at best, but her legs long and beautifully shaped and toned. Every motion she makes comes off as fluid and deliberate, and she never moves faster than she strictly has to. Her skin seems to have a perpetual, healthy tan, marred across her back by lines of blue ink formed into a large octopus, its tentacles wrapping around her left bicep.
Clothing Style: Always seeming to be hot, even when there's snow on the ground, Nanami is hardly ever seen in sleeves longer than ¾ length, or shirts that completely cover her stomach – unless she's dressed formally, though even then she prefers flowing skirts and lighter fabrics. She also seems to have a deep seated dislike of shoes and other foot coverings – all of her shoes being easy to kick off, and her wardrobe contains very little in the way of stockings and socks.
[ Don’t Turn Away ]
[ A Look Deeper ]
Personality: Serene and floaty, Nanami goes through life with her head in a cloud of rose-tinted fog. She is one of those optimists that are damn near to annoying – who can find a sliver of something positive even if everything is burning down around her. She seems to have no semblance of a temper on top of that, brushing off even the most grievous of insults with a laugh and a bright smile. It's almost as if things pass through her like the water she's named for – though this applies to things she should be paying attention to well. She's notoriously forgetful easily distracted by the tiniest of things, often leading people to refer to her as a flake. Sadly, she seems to have no intentions to change this view of herself.
Despite this, she does have a serious side – a dark cloud over her normally sunny exterior, in the form of all of those brushed off and ignored negativity gather beneath the surface. She combats the build of negativity through funneling it into something else – this 'something' usually being her dancing, or some other form of physical activity that leaves her too exhausted to do anything else with the emotions.
Strengths:
-Flexible.
-Even tempered.
-Laid back.
-Believes in second chances (and third, and fourth..)
-Unflappable.
Weaknesses:
-Flighty.
-Pacifist.
-Forgetful.
-Lazy.
-Naive and overly trusting.
Dreams: Nanami dreams of one day opening her own studio, and teaching children to dance, in the long run of things. Before that, however, she would like to make a lasting impression and name for herself as a belly dancer.
Fears: Getting seriously injured and losing her career, especially now with the pressing threat of fighting weighing over her, she's terrified of wounding herself and being unable to dance again because of it.

[ Present History ]
Hamasaki Yuuna had worked hard to make herself known as a musician. Ever since she was a child, she had practiced until her fingers bled until she was good enough to do what she loved and only that and survive on her own. Her dedication eventually pulled her from her native Hokkaido and into the rest of the world, where she was hired out for ridiculous amounts to play private parties for men and women who had nothing better to spend their fortunes on. It was here she met Koray Vartanian, heir to a small fortune, while playing a show for his engagement party. That night, she made what she still holds as the biggest mistake of her life.
A mistake that left her pregnant, and sent her packing back to her parent's in Monbetsu. Her mother and father were not pleased, though decided it would be even more shameful to abort the child. Nine months later, Nanami was born. A year later, her mother left on tour with no intentions of returning, and she fell into the slightly irritated hands of her grandparents. Hamasaki Miyu and Ryuunosuke were stiff and traditional, and raised Nanami as such. The first time she wore something that wasn't a hand me down kimono of her mother's was her elementary school uniform, and Miyu made sure to put her through lessons in calligraphy, flower arrangement, tea ceremony, and traditional dance.
Dance was Nanami's favorite activity from the start – even the stiff motions of her lessons were somehow liberating. It was unsurprising that she joined a club dedicated to it at school when she was presented to opportunity, and through it learned about other, more free forms of dance. It was her one and only love in school – her grades were fine, high through strictly mandated studying time, but her classmates were far from pleasant.
All children of long-standing, tradition-choked households, none of them ever quite took to Nanami's highly foreign appearance. It was probably this that, by the time she was in her second year of middle school, drove her into the arms of the local gang of delinquents. They were known as 'Monbetsu no Koraken', Monbetsu's Kraken, and the scourge of the city. Through them, Nanami picked up smoking, she drank, and began skipping her classes. It was a freedom she hadn't known, and she drank it all in eagerly, climbing the ranks until she was tight in the inner circle of the gang.
Finally growing sick of this change of lifestyles in their granddaughter, her grandparents kicked her out of their home, and she bounced from gang member to gang member's house, never settling with one of them for long. This lifestyle lasted until she was eighteen, and she met Damla Sarkisian, a guest of the gang's head and the first brush with belly dancing the young half-breed had ever had. Much like her first brush with dance itself, she was enraptured and hooked. She approached the older woman after the show about learning herself. Damla was reluctant at first – dance, she explained, was a matter of balance – stability and flexibility, rest and motion. Balance was something Nanami had little of in her life.
Perhaps, though, Damla could help, she decided. After all, the girl had interest, and she was still young – still salvageable. She negotiated carefully with the leader, loosening the holds of the gang on her possible student, sweeping her south to Tokyo to begin to set things to right. The first step was to shed the past, Damla explained – moving to somewhere where no one knew who she was, and erasing the 'Hamasaki' name from her own. She gently offered her own surname, explaining that she was already acting as an older sister by tucking the girl under her wing. Nanami accepted, eager to rid herself of both her ties to her old life and her grandparents, and legally became Sarkisian Nanami in the following few months it took through Tokyo legislature processes.
This began the process of rehabilitating herself under Damla's wing, and rediscovering why dance had made school tolerable for her so long ago.
She's lived in a small home on the outskirts of Tokyo with the older woman for ten years now, reorganizing herself and making a name for herself much like her mother did so long ago – doing the only thing she knows and loves.

Uniform Description: Image
• Tiara – Neptune's tiara is comprised of a string of oddly colored pearls, set into an alternating pattern of peacock, orient and sky blue. The center pearl rests between her eyebrows and is the largest. The tiara is edged along the top with a narrow, tangled strip of silver meshing.
• Earrings – A string of three pearls hangs from each ear – the top and smallest sky, the second orient, and the largest peacock blue – supporting a delicate silver bell that seems to have been carved out of a shell of some sort, polished until they gleam like metal.
• Choker – A two inch strip of silver netting wraps snugly around the base of her throat, and much like her tiara the bottom is beaded with an alternating string of pearls, the largest peacock blue in color and carved with the symbol of Neptune in silver blue.
• Collar – Peacock blue with a thin strip of orient blue around the bottom and top, Neptune's collar is translucent and made of a strange fabric that appears almost as if its made of water – slight, rippling tints of color moving through it.
• Gloves – Held in place by a pair of sky blue bands studded with four bells apiece, much like those on her earrings, Neptune's gloves are really more of sleeves – wrapping around her bicep about halfway up, and then splitting just above her elbows in the front to fall across either side of her arm. The fabric they're made of is much like that of her collar – translucent orient blue, with slight ripples moving through them. A decorative silver mesh hand flower is wrapped around each of her hands, tied around her wrists and middle fingers.
• Bodice – Formed of stiff silver blue metal, folded so there is a slight blue ripple to the metal, cut open decoratively in the front and back. This opening is filled with an almost plastic like material in transparent peacock blue, set through with gentle ripples of its own.
• Belt – A v-shaped piece of silver blue metal matching her bodice, Neptune's belt wraps low on her hips, tiny pearls matching the pattern of her choker and tiara hanging from the bottom of it. Attached to the belt is a piece of transparent, rippling peacock blue fabric that reaches her ankles, the bottom emblazoned with a softly glowing, slightly stylized silver blue version of her symbol. Attached to this piece of fabric are four thick, orient blue ribbons that loop around her hips, the top pair attaching to her belt in the back, and the bottom attaching to a pair of peacock blue ribbons that hang down just below her knees. These ribbons have a silvery blue shell bell hanging from each corner.
• Skirt – Sky blue in color, Neptune's skirt mirrors the translucent and water like style of the rest of her fuku. It cuts low across her hips, drooping down to reveal small triangles of skin between her belt and itself, hugging her thighs close and branching off about halfway down to trail behind her. The end splits into two pieces, each coming to a point, almost like a fish's tail. Over this skirt is her weapon – the mirror belt covering the skirt near completely, the clasp resting snugly in a groove above the dip in her belt.
• Shoes – In place of any actual shoe, Neptune has a pair of sky blue bands that match those around her arms, each with four silver blue shell bells, and set above triangles of silver mesh that are secured around her ankles and middle toes.
• Other – While in henshin, Neptune appears to be eternally damp – her hair is wet and almost dripping, drops of water rolling down her skin and uniform, dripping off of her fingers and leaving slight puddles behind her. Along with this, Nanami's tattoo has disappeared entirely – leaving her back and arm clean and unmarred.
Weapon: Nethuns' Belt – Named after the Etrustic god Nethuns, upon whom the Roman god Neptune was heavily based in, the belt is a long tail of shimmering silver mirrors of all shapes and sizes, placed so closely together they look like one seamless mirror-cloth from a distance. It trails down the back of her skirt and drags a small way behind her, split at the ends like a fish – or mermaid's tail – wrapping around her thighs in the front and meeting between her hip bones with a clasp of peacock blue emblazoned with the symbol of Neptune. The mirrors themselves absorb and reflect magic attacks that hit them, making it something of a potent defensive weapon.
Basilica Neptuni
Dance of Tides
Battle Style: Neptune is almost purely defensive and passive in combat – doing her best to simply block and avoid attacks in some hope that it will tire the opponent out, and she'll avoid having an actual physical confrontation. When she is forced into combat, her battle style is much like a dance, made to deflect physical attacks and use an opponent's force against them through showy, sometimes unnecessarily flashy movements. For the most part, however, Neptune would prefer to be a distance, magical fighter - if she has to fight at all.
Warrior Personality:When compared to Nanami, Neptune is much quieter, almost meeker in the face of combat. She flinches and scares easily, and seems to be eternally unsure of herself and what she's doing while attacking.
Passive Abilities:
-Water bends to her will, though only in small amounts and she generally can't do much with it for long. Perhaps she can make a few small waves a bit stronger, or a bit more gentle – but it'd be barely noticeable. In small amounts – glasses of water, ect. ect., she could likely do more and have it last a longer time. In senshi form, she has a bit more control – but not much.
-If Nanami focuses while looking into a mirror, she gets glimpses of different points of time – glimpses of lives past, of possible futures or even of that current moment. It's all incredibly random – though sometimes if she focuses hard enough on an event she wants to know more about, she can call it to the surface for a few moments. This ability isn't enough to truly be considered prophetic, or even to reveal anything terribly revealing about anyone's pasts.
[ It Ends Here Tonight ]
[ The Story of the Past ]
The last Princess of Neptune, Mayim, was born under auspicious circumstances. Everything predicted she would be an excellent ruler, a strong warrior, and carry on the traditions of her home planet with pride and grace. The prophet who read the waters for the young Princess soon lost her credibility, however - Mayim, from the time she could move around on her own, was anything but graceful, proud, or strong. She was a pale, fragile little thing that whimpered and cried at the slightest provocation, who was always finding something to trip over or tumble down. Further more, she seemed to have no interest in her duties as a senshi - dreaming during her lessons, barely trying to learn even the basics of her combat lessons. Instead, she preferred to follow her mother or her guardian like a second shadow, clinging to legs and skirts, flitting from one to the other at seemingly random.
The frustrated queen could do little, after a point, but be thankful her daughter had been born into a time of peace. She would never be a warrior -- though she could take pride in one thing, at least. The budding senshi of Neptune had incredible raw magical talent, and seemed to at the very least take an interest in that. By the age of six, she could bend water with a mere thought, still even the roughest seas long enough to make use of them as a mirror. A prodigy by any definition, if she would only apply it to more practical uses in the long run instead of playing games with it. Finally, it was suggested that the training be integrated into games to tempt Mayim into completing tasks given to her. It worked beautifully, and she honed the rough edges of her ability and her meager combat skills into something her mother could finally call a Sailor Soldier - albeit a timid one - at last.
Finally, at the age of thirteen, she could meet with and train alongside her guardian.
She ascended to the title of Sailor Neptune instead of merely 'Princess' when she was sixteen years old, stepping into her final, formal training uncertainly. A year later, she and her guardian were sent to the moon kingdom to begin training with Princess Selenity. The defensively-orientated soldier of Neptune spent the first three years of her training with the other Sol soldiers withdrawn and uncertain, thrown off guard by the prowess of the other girls. But it was somehow inspiring to watch them, and slowly she relaxed into the habit of getting to know the others through observation, watching them interact with one another, form bonds, and tumble into relationships.
She began compiling small entries and drawings on the other senshi in her journal by the age of nineteen, intending to one day release her memoirs to the others to reminisce about and tease when they had retired to ruling their planets and their children were undergoing much of the same training they had. The eve she decided this, she began to see clouded shadows in the mirrors behind her, over the reflections of her friends and team mates. She thought nothing much of it until the day the body was found, and the shadow became that much darker, that much heavier. Much like the others, in the time that followed and during the search for the killer, Mayim was forced into shedding all childish hope of their era remaining peaceful was shattered. She ceased recording her memoirs, instead turning a grim focus onto the world around her.
Still, the appearance of the enemies blind sided her as much as the death of a fellow court member had. Neptune was of little use in the war to follow, much to her frustrations. She was held back to defend the civilians and wounded while the others fought. If only she had paid more attention to combat training. If only she had done what a senshi was supposed to. Neptune left her post - leaving her belt behind, wrapped around the innocents as a barrier, and dove into the fray in hopes of helping the others hold back the tide of attackers.
Mayim fell in combat, before even seeing another of her teammates and being able to assist them.

- Sequence: Unclasping her belt from around her hips, Neptune takes one corner of it in each hand, lifting it above her head and closing her eyes. “Basilica,” she breathes, whipping the belt over her head and releasing it. As it hits the ground, she calls out 'Neptuni!' and the silver mirrors bleed out and lift – expanding and growing into a dome around her, a solid wall of a mirror. Water surges up and over it in a protective bubble, extending the dome about a foot on the outside.
- Effect: The Basilica is a big, super defensive dome. And that's about all it is. It only fits up to six people, including Neptune herself, at maximum – and that feels incredibly crowded and cramped. The water barrier is meant to absorb and prevent physical attacks, and is the first thing to fade when the attack begins powering down, gradually evaporating into nothingness. The mirror itself, much like its original form, absorbs parts of magical attacks and reflects the rest, as well as being slightly resistant to physical damage itself. At best, Neptune can hold this dome for up to fifteen minutes, the water barrier fading a full five minutes before the belt reverts to its base form. The more damage both absorb, the quicker they fade, and the less energy Neptune has once the Basilica ends.
Dance of Tides
- Sequence: Neptune claps her hands twice before setting into a complicated, swirling dance around the target(s), the bells on her uniform making soft hushing noises – similar to waves breaking over the beach – as she moves, leaving swirling trails of water in her wake, deeper and more obvious than her usual slight puddles. Finally, she spins to one side and bows deeply at the waist, head lifting slightly to smile at the target(s). “The dance of tides,” she offers as if explaining, the words triggering something – the trails of water glowing a bright sky blue before they erupt upwards into towering waves of water, crashing down over the designated area.
- Effect: Just like it seems, the Dance of Tides summons up crashing waves of water to buffet and inflict mild damage onto the targets – which include anyone within the swirling path of water Neptune leaves behind. The attack is incredibly easy to avoid, as it takes a few minutes to lay out the path, and the areas outside of it remain dry.
