[Valencia Buchanen ]

On the doorway to paradise
That those who falter and those who fall

[ Catch Me As I Fall ]
[ The Basics ]
Name Meaning: Power House of the Cannon
Nick Name: You shorten her name at your own risk.
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Gay
[ Sweet Ruptured Light ]
[ Appearances ]
Hair: Valencia has silvery hair that she keeps cropped short around her head like a battle helmet. Sometimes she’ll spike it or color the tips black or navy blue. Otherwise she leaves it alone. She has bangs but she keeps them neatly trimmed so they frame her eyes.
Face & Eyes: Valencia has eyes that are a rich navy blue in color with a rim of lighter blue surrounding the pupil. She has patented the Glare of Death; just ask anyone who’s had to play the hero to her villain. Her face is very striking, strong without being masculine, with a thin nose, full lips, and sharp cheekbones. Seriously, girl could cut glass with them. Valencia rarely smiles, she’s more likely to scowl or be neutral. When she does smile though, it’s a warm thing and softens her entire face.
Body Type: Valencia is all lean sinew and tight muscle at 5'9” and 142 pounds thanks to her training regime. Her chest is small, only about a 36 A, her waist is rather slender, and her hips are narrow with only the barest hint of a flare. But her stomach, legs, arms, shoulders, all of her is toned and in peak condition. She walks with confidence and ease, more like she’s gliding rather than walking. Valencia’s shoulders are also unusually broad for a woman. Valencia also has absolutely no curves to speak of. She puts on a suit and you won’t even be able to tell she’s a woman.
Clothing Style: For the warmer months, she usually can be found in light, breezy clothes. Things like shorts, tank tops, T-shirts, Capri pants, and sandals consist of most of her wardrobe. Most of these are men’s clothes though, especially the shorts. Valencia doesn’t like displaying her more feminine traits so she hates the warmer months when wearing pants becomes nigh on impossible. Although she tends to wear lighter shades in the summer and late spring, you will never catch her in pastels. For sandals, it’s everything from flip-flops to thick Roman-style ones meant for heavy abuse. Valencia rarely wears women’s sandals because she finds them too uncomfortable.
This is the best time of year in Valencia’s opinion. Nice and cool and she can break out some of her favorite clothes. During the colder months, Valencia loves to wear heavy, somewhat baggy pants, thick aviator jackets, hoodies, sweatshirts, sturdy boots, and all sorts of other things. Valencia also breaks out the darker colors and power suits and goes back to looking more masculine. She likes to wear heavier clothes and makes certain that almost every inch of her is covered. Valencia wears sturdy shoes, sometimes steel-toed boots, and makes sure that her feet always have thick socks on. It’s a secret of hers, but her feet get cold easily.
[ Don’t Turn Away ]
[ A Look Deeper ]
Personality: Valencia is a woman with many sides. Some of them are good and others aren’t so good. However, her standard attitude towards the world on a daily basis is pretty cool and aloof. She doesn’t care about anyone, but the moment you step into her bubble and attract her notice, that’s when she starts wondering if she should get rid of you or not. People are pawns, drones, and not worth her notice until they become intimately involved in her personal space. She could sit in a room with a dozen people and be able to tune them all out until someone moved within three feet of her. It’s amazing she has any fans at all, but Valencia believes that people like her because she’s so mysterious.
Oh yes, she has fans. For you see, Valencia is a seasoned Broadway and theater star. She’s played many roles but the majority of them were male. She was great as a child performer since she could do either boy or girl roles. It’s amazing the change that comes over her when she’s onstage. It’s as though all of the emotion, energy, and social niceties that she keeps under wraps normally are let out onstage. She pours all of her passion and love onto the stage and hasn’t regretted it once. Not even when she spent five years in the chorus before she got a chance to shine. She knows it’s not healthy, that not even the greatest performer gives so much, but she feels that she’s compensating for something. Something just beyond her reach. So to fill the void, theater is her lover, mistress, wife, and companion. For now.
Valencia is icily intelligent and uses it to get what she wants. She studies old texts (her favorites are The Prince and The Art of War) and knows all sorts of obscure facts and details. Particularly on how to kill people. However, she does have a heavy dose of common sense and won’t kill someone just for the heck of it. Too messy. Valencia also has a biting sarcasm and uses it on fools and those who try to usurp her position (or what she feels is her position) in the theater. She’s ruthless though and everyone who’s worked with her knows how little she thinks of people who act like they’re the big cheese. No, not going to fly.
Overall, Valencia is not a nice woman by any means. She can be polite, she can smile for the cameras, she can work with people who respect her, but she will never have “friends”. She lives her life the way she desires and is waiting for the day when she will finally confront Uranus once again. She won’t ever admit it, but she’s getting tired of waiting and an impatient Valencia is never a good thing. She’s liable to lose hold of her powerful self-control and kill someone.
Strengths: Intelligent, tactical, ambitious, powerful voice, disciplined, confident.
Weaknesses: Cunning, ruthless, manipulative, no social skills whatsoever, high standards, biting temper.
Dreams: Valencia desires nothing more than to spend the rest of her youth onstage, performing, stepping into personas not her own. Or at least she would if she was normal. What’s replaced her former dream is a burning need to see Sailoruranus dead at her feet and her throne returned to her. She also wants to find the person she keeps dreaming of. The one who calls her “beloved”…
Fears: Funnily enough, Valencia fears her counterpart of Ouranos. Ouranos is everything she tries to keep hidden. Her murderous intent, her cruelty, her delight in seeing other people in pain…it’s all magnified and she can barely control it. She also fears: failing to kill Uranus, her dream person not being all she imagined, giving a terrible performance, and she’s deathly afraid of spiders.

[ Present History ]
Valencia Buchanen’s birth wasn’t really remarked upon. After all, she’d been born with two older siblings (a brother, Dominic and a sister, Celene) only a few years ahead of her so her parents had done this before. Heck, her father had even delivered all three of his children in a New York City hospital. As the youngest in a family of over-achievers, Valencia really felt out of place. Her father was a doctor, her mother a psychiatrist, and her older siblings were well on their way to distinguishing themselves in their own ways. Dominic was an amazing athlete and Celene was a genius in the classroom. For the longest time, Valencia just felt kind of…there.
Her parents were baffled. How had they produced such an under-achieving daughter? What they didn’t realize was that Valencia was looking for her niche. Somewhere she could shine without being compared to her older siblings. If she was going to be acknowledged, then it would be on her merit, not because of something they had done. And finally, during a routine choir practice in middle school, Valencia found her niche.
She had an amazing set of pipes.
It was something natural, she supposed. If there was an academic and an athlete, then there had to be an artist of some kind in this family. Valencia was thrilled. She’d found what she was good at and wanted to take private singing lessons. Her parents…weren’t as thrilled. They were hoping for another genius to either become a doctor or a lawyer or something more concrete. They had hoped Valencia would follow in her older sister’s footsteps rather than her brothers and choose something not so…flighty in terms of pay, security, and conditions. Valencia however was determined. She used her own allowance to take singing lessons and from there it only exploded.
Valencia was the star of every school production. She had such a deep, rich voice and a natural air about that made people just want to be near her. She couldn’t explain it but she enjoyed it. It wasn’t until she graduated and tried to hit Broadway that she realized something: she was just one of millions of hopefuls looking to hit it big. She went to dozens of auditions with no results whatsoever. Whenever she came back unsuccessful her parents gloated that much more. Finally she realized something: she didn’t stand out. With her long hair and her feminine clothes, she was just one of many. She needed to be different.
So the very next day she chopped off her hair, bound her breasts, dressed in a suit, and presented herself for the male roles.
Somehow she managed to capture the essence of a powerful man…even though she was a woman. It was so unconventional, so out there, that the casting agents were baffled. And then they wouldn’t stop talking. Valencia was cast for a minor male role and that’s when things began to get crazy. She took on more and more roles, all of them male, all of them in the chorus, until her big break came. At the age of 23, after 5 years in the chorus, she was going to play Fiyero in Wicked.
She killed it.
Broadway was abuzz with publicity about her, the “woman who sings like a man”, and she was thrilled. After so much hard work, she was finally getting her big break. Of course her parents tried to claim all the credit for her upbringing, but Valencia shot that down flat. She’d learned a lot in the theater, including how to be ruthless and to never let the prize leave your eyes. Valencia had hardened from her time on Broadway. No longer was she some wide-eyed hopeful. She was a woman on a mission and had the whole future ahead of her.
And then the dreams started. Valencia started dreaming about a war and someone who had claimed something she knew in her heart was hers. Night after night she dreamed. Her performances started seeming more like dreams than her actual dreams. Finally she had a name: Ouranos. She was Sailorouranos and she was the rightful ruler of the planet Uranus. And there was the pretender. The woman who had stolen what was rightfully hers. There was something else too. Someone called out to her, who begged her to come back to her. Someone who called her “beloved”. Valencia knew she had to find Uranus. She had to find this mysterious person who called to her. However, her current performance of “Les Miserables” was going on tour and she had no choice but to go. Perhaps it would help her find where she was meant to be and find Uranus. Their first destination? Japan.

Uniform Description:
Weapon: Deliverer – Often just called “Deliverer”, Ouranos’ weapon is an enormous battle hammer. The handle is three feet long and the actual hammer part has a flat head a foot in diameter, which tapers off to a sharp point after another foot. The wooden handle is incredibly thick and made of dark wood. The hammer is made of dark cerulean reinforced iron. Deliverer is designed to withstand powerful combat and Ouranos is the only one who can wield it because it comes with a special enchantment. A gravity barrier surrounds Deliverer so when someone who isn’t Ouranos picks it up, they are exposed to ten times Earth’s normal gravity. So this way, someone will either drop it or have their hands crushed. Either way, it gets the unlucky person to drop her weapon so Ouranos is happy. She carries Deliverer upside down on her back so that way the hammer part doesn’t hit her in the head if she’s jostled wrong.
The Burden of Atlas
I Defy Gravity
Battle Style: In battle, Ouranos is a combat killing machine. She will not hesitate and she will not stop. Uranus is her ultimate target, but if she manages to take down a few other Senshi, hey, then that’s cool too.
Warrior Personality: Unlike Valencia, Ouranos has absolutely no remorse, mercy, compassion, or forgiving emotion in her body. Once she transforms, it’s as if all those emotions are crushed under the weight of her role as a Senshi. She likes to think that it drives all the warmth and humanity from her and in a way, she’s right. She does lose part of herself when she transforms.
Ouranos will not hesitate in a fight. Her way in battle is: no quarter, no prisoners. So be warned, once someone faces off with Ouranos, they will either have to kill her, escape, or be killed themselves. While as Valencia she does have a code she fights by, once she transforms, that disappears. There is no honor left in her, only cold calculation, cruelty, and the desire to kill. This desire drives her because Ouranos has convinced herself that the only way she will find salvation is by slaughtering the Sol Senshi…and Uranus in particular.
Passive Abilities:
Gravitate to Me – This is the reason Valencia has yet to be fired from a production. She has an air about her, an unexplainable force that makes people drift towards her with undeniable attraction. No one can say what it is, all they know is that there’s something about her.
I Live Under Pressure – Valencia can control the gravity around her up to a five foot diameter. So anyone who enters her bubble that she doesn’t want there, she just turns up the gravity to get them to go away.
[ It Ends Here Tonight ]
[ The Story of the Past ]
Valencia knows she is Sailorouranos. She knows how she became a Shade Senshi. That doesn’t mean she’s going to tell anyone. After all, three can keep a secret if two of them are dead.

[ A Look Deeper ]
Uniform Description:
- Tiara/Earrings – Wrapped around Ouranos’ head, hidden underneath her hair, is a gold tiara. It’s a sturdy gold chain with golden orbs spaced two inches apart that circles her entire head. Dangling from the center orb is a teardrop-shaped dark cerulean gemstone. Thankfully this is secured to her head so it doesn’t go flying all over the place. Ouranos also wears a pair of dangling drop-shaped gold earrings with myrtle stones.
- Choker – Two satin bands about an inch wide circle Ouranos’ neck and cross in the center. The bands are dark cerulean in color and are snug without being choking.
- Collar – Ouranos’s dark cerulean collar extends just over the curve of her shoulders and the end hangs just below her breasts. The neckline juts down in a sharp V, but since Ouranos is so flat chested, there is hardly any curve to be seen underneath.
- Gloves – Ouranos doesn’t wear gloves, rather, she wears leather arm guards that start at her wrists and tightly fit the length of her arm to her shoulder. In these gloves are thin strips of metal that act as ribbing to turn aside a blow.
- Bodice – Standard white bodice, with a band of dark cerulean that starts just above her waist and then curves sharply down to meet in the center at her belt. This leaves a good few inches of skin bare, which bothers Ouranos to no end. The bodice is made of light, breathable material.
- Belt – Ouranos’s belt is made of one thick band of satin with two different colors. One half is dark cerulean and the other half is slate grey. It wraps around her hips and ties into her bow at the back. The bow itself is relatively simple, just one thick ribbon in dark cerulean and slate grey. The tails though are split in half, so she has four thin tails trailing down to the backs of her knees, two in dark cerulean and two in slate grey.
- Skirts – What’s interesting is that the skirt is not just a skirt, it’s pants too. The first two layers are obscenely short skirts, the third layer splits into a pair of pants. The top layer is a dark cerulean pleated skirt; the second is a myrtle-colored skirt that peeks out from underneath the first. The third layer is a pair of slate grey pants that hug her legs tightly until they reach Ouranos’ knees and then they gradually flare at the hem, which reaches her ankles. The pants are very stretchy, durable, and easy to move in.
- Boots – These are myrtle and are very simple. Made of thick leather, Ouranos’ boots are steel toed and they have a slight heel to them. However, the heel is connected to the sole of the boot so the bottom rests flat on the ground. They extend to just below Ouranos’ knees underneath her pants and she likes them because although they have a heel, they’re still easy to move in.
- Sequence: Ouranos doesn’t say the phrase, she merely concentrates her power into Deliverer. The head of the hammer glows with dark cerulean light and she swings it around in several circles, getting a good momentum going, before slamming it into someone.
- Effect: The target of this attack feels, on impact, the burden of Atlas. They will feel as though the very weight of the sky is pressing down on them and this sensation will last for about ten seconds. Now, if Ouranos doesn’t hit anyone with Deliverer, then the attack fades and she will not be able to do it again for about an hour or until she henshins again, whichever comes first. Since all of the energy is concentrated into the head of the hammer, the radius is its radius and the opponent can either block or dodge the attack, but once Deliverer makes impact, the attack can’t be canceled. This attack can only be used twice per henshin.
I Defy Gravity
- Sequence: Ouranos just snaps her fingers and the gravity around her shifts at her will.
- Effect: For a ten-foot radius around her, the gravity is distorted so that anyone who tries to charge or magically attack her will feel as though the gravity is five times that of Earth. This ability is easier to perform while in Senshi form because she has more power to work with and doesn’t have to focus on such a concentrated area so she can use it up to three times per henshin. The attack will only last for thirty seconds and once a person enters the field of gravity, be they friend of foe, unless they can escape, they won’t be able to get out of it.
