[ Meidono Sendou ]
[ Ferryman of the Underworld whose eyes flash with fire
A coin to pass beyond the shore, beyond muck and mire
You who rules the dreary coast, where souls come at their end
Pay the toll or spend eternity beside the riverbed.]
[ Catch Me As I Fall ]
[ The Basics ]
Name Meaning: Guardian of the Underworld
Nick Name: Sen
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Bisexual
[ Sweet Ruptured Light ]
[ Appearances ]
Hair: Sen’s hair is a rich, bright gold with streaks of darker honey tones and brown mixed in. The locks are thick, wavy, and are cut so his bangs frame and hang over his eyes while the rest is cropped short, close to his neck. Sen is meticulous about keeping it trimmed and styled perfectly. No split ends for this boy, neither will you find him with a hair out of place. Styling products are his friends. Most of the time Sen leaves his hair down, but on hot days, he’ll pull it back into a small rat-tail at the base of his neck.
Face & Eyes: A deep, fascinating mixture of blue and black, Sen’s eyes tend to look right through the person he’s staring down, the colors shifting constantly. A triangle-shaped face gives Sen a long, lean look. He has narrow cheekbones, but a strong, square jaw, and his mix of Arabian, British, and Japanese heritage shows in his facial features. Also, because of his bloodline, he has smooth, fine skin in a light mocha tone. It becomes darker during summer months and is usually tinged with gold. He has a proud, strong nose that’s rather blunt at the end, and he has blonde eyebrows he blackens to give him a rather sinister look. Despite his strong face, his mouth is supple and the only thing that softens the rest of his features. The entire rim of his right ear is pierced and he can wear as many as seven earrings in the ridge and one in the actual lobe.
Body Type: At 6'2” and 225 pounds, Sen is an impressive figure. He spends about two hours a day working out and so his body is muscled without being grotesque. Sen has broad shoulders with toned arms and deft hands. Give him a revolver and he can take it apart and put it together without losing any of the little pieces. With a broad chest and a stomach with six-pack abs, Sen is all steel and muscle. He has long legs and wears size 10 shoes (Western style shoes of course), but that doesn’t mean his package is lacking. His previous paramours never had anything to complain about. Although, Sen does have several scars on his back, hands, and chest from various fights, training exercises, and disciplinary “play” that he’s gotten into over the years. All in all, he knows he isn’t bad looking, and dresses to emphasize that.
Clothing Style: Because of the tattoo marking him as a Yakuza, Sen favors long sleeves in the summer and in winter. However, because of his tastes, he wears strictly Western-style clothes unless he’s meeting with higher-ranking members or guests in a formal setting. Then he’ll wear traditional Japanese kimono for men. Sen favors dark colors such as black, navy, crimson, dark green, indigo, grey, and only wears white when it comes to shirts and ties.
For the spring months, Sen wears long-sleeved sweaters, shirts, and three-piece suits when he’s out as a member of the faction. All are made from cotton, wool, or silk and are very expensive. Brands include Armani, Abercrombie and Fitch, and sometimes Neiman Marcus. Everything is tailored and custom-fit for his person and Sen is never seen in anything less than his best. The man has a meticulous eye for his clothes and knows precisely what looks good on him. In the summer, he wears white or grey shirts, mostly three-quarter sleeves or longer and always wears slacks or black jeans. You will never see this man in shorts unless he’s headed for the pool. He favors simple wingtip shoes in black Italian leather and always wears black socks with his shoes.
For winter and fall, Sen piles up on the wool, cashmere, and jersey. He wears heavy sweaters, trench coats, his business attire, and thick cashmere scarves. Sen likes to dress in layers for winter and always makes sure that his pants are long enough to cover his ankles, and his shoes have a bit of a heel to keep him out of the snow. The man’s favorite coat in the winter is his floor-length, grey, wool Armani coat that he wears just about everywhere. He won’t wear earmuffs, but he does favor soft leather gloves with fleece lining the inside. Sen’s fingers tend to get cold easily, so he also has hand warmers tucked in the interior pockets of his coat. And that’s another thing: Sen’s coats and suit jackets all have extra little hidden pockets specially tailored on the inside so he can hide stuff in them.
[ Don’t Turn Away ]
[ A Look Deeper ]
Personality: The first thing someone should know about Sen is this: while he may not be a nice man, he’s definitely not an evil man. Being raised as the son of a Yakuza all his life, with his grandfather as the head of the family has made him hard, cold, and driven. His life involving gang wars, illegal trade, and the prospect of being “taken care of” has made Sen very paranoid and prone to using his wits, his weapons, and his charm to get his way. The end justifies the means and Sen lives by that saying. In fact, the means shouldn’t have to be justified if the goal is achieved. That’s his way of life: if he needs something done, then he’ll use anything in his power, anyone who he can influence, to get it done. It’s what makes a great Yakuza, and Sen believes it makes a great man as well.
While Sen may seem to be as warm as a rock, he does have his soft spots. For instance, Sen is extremely devoted to his mother, his grandfather, and his “brothers” that he’s close to in the family. Not his older brother. No, his older brother Haruomi can go to hell for all he cares. But his mother he absolutely adores. She taught him to temper his wrath with mercy and compassion; otherwise his soul would suffer in the afterlife. In fact, Sakura tried to teach both of her sons that, but Sen was the only one who took her lessons to heart. And while he is petrified of giving his heart to anyone, he does love his family very much. And he does have room in his life for friends, provided that they meet his exacting standards.
Sen’s standards (for just about everything) are incredibly high. One would say they were almost unrealistic. Sen expects the best from everyone. Himself, his family, his friends, his lovers, everyone, and if they don’t meet those precise standards, then he won’t have anything to do with them. This is especially true when he’s choosing a paramour. Sen looks over each candidate, unafraid to ask penetrating questions, and tests to see if they quake under his gaze. He knows he’s got a hypnotic pair of eyes and uses them to his advantage when he’s sizing up a possible one-night stand. If the person doesn’t seem like the kind he’d want to take to bed, then Sen moves on and tries to find another target. If no one meets his qualifications, he goes home and hooks up with someone he knows will stand and deliver.
The fact that Sen has sex all the time is because he’s afraid. Deep down in his core, the man is afraid of love, of attachment, of caring for another person so much that you’d die for them. So he covers all of his fear and insecurity with sex. Sen doesn’t want to become that weak as to love someone. In the world he lives in, the thought of someone he cares for being used against him makes him sick. He also uses sex as a means of escape. Most of the time he’s so in control of himself, of his world, that he doesn’t know how to unwind until someone shows him. Someone else literally has to take control away from him and force him into submission in order for Sen to grasp that one sweet moment in time where he doesn’t have to worry about anything but himself and his partner.
Because of his business, he’s learned not to patronize and abide fools. Fools get people killed. Fools take all the glory for themselves. Fools are just plain stupid and Sen won’t have anything to do with them. He works with intelligent people who know what they’re doing or he won’t work with them at all. Sen is incredibly stubborn that way and he refuses to bow and cater to anyone. He’s a man who knows his own mind and knows precisely what he wants. What he wants is to be acknowledged for his deeds and to not work with idiots. All in all, while Sen isn’t really the kind of guy that’s all rainbows and unicorns, he is the type to get things done. And once you’ve won your way into his good graces, you’ll be hard-pressed to lose that spot. So relax, you can trust Sen…look into his eyes…and all your troubles will be fine. Really.
Strengths: Loyal, intelligent, genteel, charismatic, secret big softie, driven, confident, motivated
Weaknesses: Asshole, diva, violent, sex fiend, control freak, arrogant, cocky
Dreams: Become oyabun of the Meidono-gunpai family, kill his older brother, find a love that will stir his very soul.
Fears: Birds, failure, boats, falling in love.

[ Present History ]
It was a happy day indeed when Meidono Sakura met Henry Jameson. Sakura had been on holiday in Great Britain with her father, Kazuomi, when she met Henry. The man was a handsome one, with proud Arabian blood as well as a strong British heritage, having been raised in England all his life. The two of them fell in love despite the fact that her father was the oyabun of the Yakuza family Meidono-gunpai and her husband was supposed to be his next heir. That meant a pureblood Japanese man, not a mongrel of mixed blood. But the two were young and in love and even though Kazuomi did everything in his power to keep his beloved Sakura away from the Brit, the two of them eloped into the night after only three weeks together. Kids, I tell ya.
Well, once Kazuomi found out, he was furious. Their marriage couldn’t be annulled and he had no other children to name as his heir. And he didn’t want any of the other families in his syndicate branch to become the head of their Yakuza family. So, he forced Henry to change his last name to Meidono (to keep it all in the family), and demoted his son-in-law from heir to only wakagashira. Henry, of course, had no idea how to be a part of the Yakuza faction, but thankfully Kazuomi was an involved man. He would not have his lieutenant and second in command make him looking like a fool, and so for the first few months of marriage, Sakura hardly ever saw her husband. Henry had to learn fast and he had to learn well if he was going to survive in their world of gambling, running businesses, and killing people. Especially that.
It was a lot to ask of the man, and he did consider divorcing Sakura, but then she became pregnant with their first child. Meidono Haruomi was their precious firstborn and so Henry stayed with his small family to love and raise the child that he had created with his first and true love. Then, four years later, they were blessed with another boy, whom they named Sendou. But Henry found that he was missing his own family back in Great Britain and asked if the honorable oyabun would consider letting them go back for a time. Kazuomi finally agreed to let them go because they were in a middle of a gang war and he wanted his daughter and grandchildren safe. Still, it was on the condition that they sent their oldest child to him for training at the age of ten.
With that hard decision to make, the Meidono family went to Great Britain and there they raised their two boys in peace, away from the Yakuza and their activities. Sen grew up as a normal, happy boy. He loved his mother and father dearly and was entranced by the tales of his Grandfather. Once in a while they had the man over, and Sen was always around him, asking questions, examining his clothes, and eating the cakes that Kazuomi provided. One day when he was five or so, his older brother decided it would be funny to push Sendou off the hull of the yacht that the family was sailing on. Sen smacked his head on the way down and would have drowned had he not been wearing a life jacket. Then, a few weeks later, he decided it would be funny to taunt the swans into chasing Sen around the lake while he watched and laughed. He was punished for that too. But it never seemed to stop Haruomi from tormenting his brother.
So, Sen toughened up. He started to learn Iaido, studied his Grandfather and father in the ways of their dress and mannerisms, and soon learned that the clothes and attitude made the man. Sen also started to learn how to handle guns, knives, swords, anything he could get his hands on. Haruomi wasn’t the one who wanted to see Grandfather and learn from him, he was. And for once, that meant he had a heads-up on his brother. When the family returned to Japan when Sen was ten years old, his brother had already gone through three years of training…but he had gone through more. Sendou was also meticulously groomed and had mastered the proper greetings for an oyabun as a lieutenant’s younger son. He comported himself fabulously in front of his Grandfather’s fellow officers, and even in front of the Yamaguchi-gumi, so that helped to earn Kazuomi more respect from his superiors. Let’s just say, Haruomi was furious that his stupid younger brother was getting all the praise.
That’s when Haruomi successfully sabotaged his brother’s tea ceremony with Grandfather and the oyabun of the Yamaguchi-gumi family.
Sendou was absolutely humiliated. He had failed his Grandfather, through no fault of his own, and had failed the family. All because of his stupid brother. And so, he decided that he wouldn’t take anymore of the tormenting. He became even tougher, setting out to form his own alliances, got odd jobs doing things for the family, and learned everything he could at his Father’s elbow. After all, Grandfather Kazuomi was now spending more and more time with Haruomi and didn’t have time for Sen anymore. He’d failed the family and now he had to fix it. He learned the hard way that if things weren’t in his control, then they were all going to fall apart. Sen quickly began to plan everything for anything he was doing. When he traveled the world with his mother, visiting Spain, America, France, and other exotic places, he learned and he planned.
Sakura began to feel that there was too much pressure on her little boy, but Sen wasn’t giving up. Thankfully though, when he turned 18, he not only received his irezumi tattoo…but he also found himself a lover. A man, to be exact and just his luck, Sen’s mother caught them in the bathroom. The same thing happened again two years later, in celebration of his tattoo being finished. Yes it took two years, it was that ornate. That’s when Sen realized he liked sex. He liked it with men, women, and he liked it when he was no longer in control. Of course, he never told anyone. Not only that, but he began to plan his elder brother’s downfall. Sendou was going to reclaim his honor and become his Grandfather’s heir no matter what the cost.
Now though, at the age of 23, he also has other goals to achieve. He also has his own life to lead outside of the family. Sen has his own apartment in Shinjuku near the family’s house and that’s where he takes his paramours. But he’s also been having some very strange dreams about a lonely young girl with sad eyes, standing in a fog of mist in front of a large gate. She’s calling him her friend and protector and he wants to find out what’s going on so these weird dreams will stop. After all, he has more important things on his mind….right?

Uniform Description:
Weapon: Ferryman’s Oar – This is a six-foot oar made entirely of black wood with a core of lead, to make it even heavier. The handle is four feet and the actual paddle is two. It’s shaped like an average-sized oar, with special handgrips for Charon to use to wield it and the entire thing is polished. Which means it’s very shiny and Charon loves it. Inscribed on the flat end of the paddle is his symbol, done in indigo. Also, if anyone else but him tried to pick it up, it would immediately dissolve into mist and reappear in Charon’s hands.
Time to Pay the Toll
Battle Style: He acts as bodyguard/protector for Sailorpluto and nothing can talk him out of it. Charon is a strong Senshi in terms of magical attacks and has a niche in freaking out his opponents with just a few of his Scary Looks of Doom. He is also an expert in weapons' combat and can wield his oar like a staff.
Warrior Personality: Sen and Charon really aren’t that different. However, Charon is a lot more ruthless than Sen and it’s as though all of his darker attributes come out. When it comes to Pluto though, Charon is deferential, addressing her as “princess” or “Princess Pluto” and is always on the look out for things that could harm her. And if he believes that his leader isn’t acting as a proper leader, then he’ll tell her. Of course, if it was Selenity, he’ll do it with more tact, but if it’s Uranus or Earth, then he won’t hesitate to tell her flat out what she’s doing wrong, why it’s wrong, and how his way would be a lot better.
Passive Abilities:
Freaky Look of Doom (Sen’s eyes are very fascinating and one can either become entranced by them or freaked the hell out depending on their personality)
Soul Sense (Sen can sense the presence of a soul, see it in color, and watch how it moves. This can be a person living, dead, or displaced. He tries to keep it turned off most of the time though as it can get distracting/annoying.)
[ It Ends Here Tonight ]
[ The Story of the Past ]
Pluto, as the furthest planet from the sun, was also the least inhabited. That was the same story for the ever-faithful moon of Pluto, which was where the populace (those that chose to live there) resided. Charon was not only the name of the moon, but it was also the name of Princess Pluto’s greatest and most loyal Court member. Queen Selenity herself appointed the new Charon when the new Princess Pluto was born and it was always the child of a family the Queen deemed worthy to be the guardian to the keeper of Time. Male or female, young or old, noble or common, the Charon line was the most unusual one of the court system.
The Charon during the time of the Silver Millennium was a young woman chosen, not from a noble family, but from a very poor family. The young girl’s mother and father were struggling to make a life on the moon of Pluto, mining geodes to sell as trinkets and such to locals on the Moon Kingdom. When Charon was first introduced to Princess Pluto, she immediately vowed to protect the small, fragile girl from everything in the universe. Even from that young age, the young girl was loyal and tough, with great magical strength, even if she lacked any physical defenses. That didn’t matter though. Princess Pluto was the most important person in the universe and Charon was going to protect her. Forever.
So she did. Charon was a constant shadow at Pluto’s side and yet when it came to visiting the Moon Kingdom, Charon would often disappear for hours at a time. Not out of any lack of duty but because she couldn’t abide the people of the Moon. She resented the fact that her princess had to be regulated to the Door of Time, hardly ever setting foot away from it. With no where else to wander to, Charon found herself on the planet Saturn most of the time, speaking to the woman comatose in chains. As guardian of the Underworld, Charon understood death and wasn’t afraid of Saturn’s power. In her, she just saw a fellow Senshi locked up, tied down, unable to see the outside world and its wonders, just like her princess.
But then, everything changed when the courtier was found murdered in the Moon Castle. Charon knew better than almost anyone that death would soon befall the Silver Millennium. She could see it in their souls. All were fated to die, including her. Including her princess. So when the Shade Senshi appeared, making their demands on the thrones, Charon stayed by Pluto’s side and fought against Hades. She fought until she couldn’t go any further and eventually succumbed to the wounds and infection she received on the battlefield. The last thing she saw was the appearance of Selenity and Sailorsaturn and Charon smiled. They would be in good hands, of that she had faith. And she closed her eyes for the last time.

[ A Look Deeper ]
Uniform Description:
- Headpiece – Charon wears a black circlet around his head, over his hair, that looks like vines woven together, decorated with leaves and thorns. Spaced throughout the circlet are small amethysts in a deep indigo shade. The thorns are small, so they don’t cut into his skin, but are incredibly sharp.
- Tunic – This deep indigo tunic drapes over his body and the ends reach his knees. Charon keeps it belted at the waist with a black belt and at the hem of the tunic are a few charms in the shape of his symbol and Pluto’s. There are two for him and three for her. The tunic is sleeveless and is made of rich velvet. Embroidered in glittering black threads, going from the hem to the right shoulder, is an image of the River Styx.
- Shirt – Charon’s shirt is black, made of light, breathable cotton, and is underneath his tunic. The sleeves are long and end in cuffs at his wrists. They’re also a bit loose, to give him room to move around. On the cuffs are small indigo cufflinks in the shape of Pluto's symbol.
- Pants – Again, these are simple black pants made out of cotton that are light and breathable. The pants are tight and mold to his every contour and muscle, but provide him room to move around. The ends are tucked into his boots so they don’t get in the way of combat.
- Boots – Heavy, clunky, and covered with silver chains, these combat boots are rather intimidating. They extend halfway up Charon’s shin and down the outer sides of each are four silver buckles to keep them secure. Chains wrap around the top part of the boot, cross around behind, then in front over the top of his foot, before clasping together just above his heel. The boots are steel-toed and the soles are ridged. But the ridges are incredibly sharp and dig into bare dirt.
- Cloak – Floor-length, hooded, and seemingly made of mist. It’s onyx on the outside with a deep indigo under layer and when he places the hood over his head, it stays in place until he pushes it back again. The hood also keeps everything except his eyes in shadow. The cloak is made of lightweight wool and is hemmed and cut to fit Charon’s frame perfectly. When it’s wrapped around his body, the cloak keeps his entire body in shadow until he removes it. And when he does, the cloak simply sinks into the ground and vanishes in indigo mist. The clasp at the base of the hood is silver, with Charon’s symbol done in indigo engraved on it.
- Accessories – Charon wears silver hoop earrings in all of his piercings and in the lobe, he wears a single dangling earring in the shape of the Pluto symbol. His tattoo vanishes while he’s in this form, but he does gain a smaller one of a scorpion on the side of his neck. His belt is made of black leather and the buckle is silver, rather plain and ordinary. The chains on his boots can also be removed and wound around his knuckles for punching if he so desires.
- Sequence: Charon opens his mouth and removes a gold coin from under his tongue. As the backdrop darkens and a boat appears behind him on a black river, Charon flips the coin. He says his attack phrase, calm as you please, catches the coin, and smacks it on the back of his hand. If it’s heads, then the attack is activated. What appear to be dead spirits rise out from the river and start screaming and wailing towards the enemy as Charon’s eyes glow a bright, vivid indigo.
- Effect: First thing to know, if the coin Charon spins lands on tails, this attack doesn’t activate and he can’t try again for another three minutes. Second, the dead spirits are just that: spirits. They can’t physically harm an opponent, but this is all about the fear factor. The dead scream and wail in torment and torture, and they resemble the enemy’s closest friend/loved one/whoever, but only in their mind’s eye. To everyone else, they look like shapeless, faceless phantoms. But the target will see someone they cared for as a dead and agonized specter, so this is more of a psychological attack than anything else. If the target has a strong will, they can resist the screams of the tormented souls. Magic cannot dispel this attack and there is no physical way to get rid of the souls until the attack time runs out. This attack lasts for a minute at maximum and can be used twice in a henshin.
